Description
The Alvaro Sideboard is a captivating dialogue between reclaimed nature and industrial artistry. Handcrafted in Mexico, this piece is built from unique fragments of salvaged spalted primavera wood, crowned with a tabletop of raw wood stumps and framed by gently curved panels of weathered aluminum. Left to develop a natural patina, the aluminum acquires a unique landscape of dimples and speckles, creating a one-of-a-kind foundation for generous, organized storage. Each sideboard offers ample, adjustable interior storage, ideal for dinnerware, linens, or entertainment essentials. As a functional sculpture that honors the beauty of material transformation, no two pieces are alike. Variations in color, pattern, and texture are celebrated, reflecting the inherent uniqueness of variable natural and weathered materials. The hand-applied finish and protective acrylic lacquer enhance the wood’s beauty while ensuring durability and a soft sheen.
- - Artisan Craftsmanship: Meticulously handbuilt in Mexico from salvaged spalted primavera wood and hand-welded, naturally oxidized aluminum.
- - Reclaimed Wood Character: Each wood surface showcases the wood's unique history, including natural spalting, grain variation, and organic features like water stains or subtle cracks.
- - Evolved Metal Patina: The aluminum panels are weathered outdoors, developing a distinctive, unrepeatable patina with rich tones and textural speckling over time.
- - Hand-Finished Protection: A hand-applied finish and protective acrylic lacquer enhance the wood’s beauty while ensuring durability and a soft sheen.
