Artisan partners in Indonesia handcraft our Kalmar Collection, piecing together slices of teak heartwood and sapwood onto solid wood frames. We sand, smooth, wax, and seal each hand-cut teak section by hand to highlight its unique wood tones, grain patterns, texture, and shape, ensuring every piece is truly one of a kind.
- As with natural teak, organic shapes, cracks, and patinas will develop over time. Splits, knots, joint lines, and other features add distinct character to each piece without affecting quality or performance.
- Floating construction allows individual heartwood sections to expand and contract naturally.
