After heavy storms, our artisan partners in Mexico search the forest for fallen Mexican ash trees, salvaging as many logs as possible. Each log is hand-oyster-cut, arranged, and stained, then combined with pieces of sustainably grown European ash burl to create stunning, mosaic-like surfaces. The rustic beauty of the remarkable Polanco Collection comes together with bases made from naturally oxidized metal that provide the perfect contrast.
- Handcrafted using oyster-cut fragments of salvaged Mexican ash and sustainably harvested European ash burl.
- A hand-applied, reactive finish brings out the natural beauty and color variations of the wood, followed by an acrylic lacquer layer for extra protection.
- Oyster-cut wood may show cracks and other organic traits like scorch marks, water stains, and natural grain patterns; these do not impact the quality or performance of your piece.
- The bases are built from steel panels that have been weathered outdoors, developing a rich patina filled with dimples and speckles as they age.
- Polanco Beds do not need box springs.
- Bed frames feature enough space for you to tuck in your bedding neatly.
- This collection is artisan-crafted from natural materials with hand-applied finishes. Individual pieces will vary in color, pattern, shape, and texture, making each one truly unique.
